Adobe Acrobat Reader software is available for several other platforms. To obtain a free copy contact Adobe on the World Wide Web [http://www.adobe.com] or reach their BBS (i.e., Bulletin Board Service) at 1-206-623-6984. 5. Are There More Tools Available To Enhance Acrobat Reader? Yes. Adobe Acrobat will add a level of performance and special features to Acrobat Reader. Please consult with Adobe Systems for more information on this products. 6. Is the Reader Software Maintained? Adobe Systems has made a significant contribution to the computer industry with the Acrobat products. We believe that they provide the user with the best low cost solution to file development and use -- regardless of the system software the user elects to have on their computer. Updates are frequent and the entire product line is supported by Adobe. 7. How Do I Reach Technical Support Regarding the Reader Software? Please call Adobe Systems at 1-800-521-1976 for the number for your need and area. They have a variety of support options ranging from E-mail:techdocs@adobe.com (499908 in subject line), a fax-back system (1-206-628-5737), all the way to a 1-900 line. Call 1-800-879-3219 and listen to the automated directory. Select your options with care: they are top-of-the-line at every level, so request only the minimum level of support you think you might need. 10. Will I Need Special Fonts to Read My Wesleyan Heritage Books? While you should be able to see and use the files we supply with any version of the font "Times," for optimal results we recommend you use TIMES NEW ROMAN, a version of Times that comes with Windows on the PC. We elected to rely on this font in that it proved the best multi-platform solution in its mapping and appearance; its behavior was the most satisfactory in our tests. This font is available free of charge from Microsoft's internet site (http://www. Microsoft.com). The Greek and Hebrew fonts seen in the Wesleyan Heritage Library Books are embedded in the documents so they should display and print correctly. They were embedded using Adobe programs. If you plan to do copying and pasting of texts with the foreign fonts in them, we recommend you install the appropriate font files in your system. PRINTING PROBLEMS?: Some printers require software to print postscript documents correctly. If you are using an older dot matrix printer, you may find it difficult to get good results (although some users have found ways to get around this issue by contacting the manufacturer of their printer). If you have a PC and the printing is partial or blocks of text are missing, we recommend you contact your printer manufacturer. 11. Corrections, Errors, Ideas and Trades. Over the course of developing the Wesleyan Heritage Library, we encountered a number of difficulties deserving note: 1) occasionally the printed text of the copy of a specific book was of poor quality, or, 2) the printing which was used as the basis of the Book contained a number of errors (in spelling, pointing, etc.), or, 3) there were archaic forms in both the English and foreign language portions of the text. 12. Errors and where they originated. The original editors and typesetters made some errors, We corrected the obvious ones that were detected. And we are not infallible, we have put in some errors of our own. Some of the archaic forms of words were updated by some of the contributors. We feel the most appropriate selection has been made in the production of this CD. If you should find errors in the Wesleyan Heritage Library, please write them down and send them to us. We will appreciate it and will make every attempt to correct them in the next release of the affected Volume. If you have a book or document that is in a digital format and you have obtained the copyright or can verify that the item is in the public domain, our editorial board would very much like to negotiate a trade or otherwise acquire the book from you. Write or call us. We are open to suggestions and ideas that would make the Library of greater value to you our customers. Any help you might offer would be appreciated. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS 1.
