Preparing Electronic
Texts in Word for the CCEL
Simple Guidelines
Here are a few simple guidelines for
preparing an electronic text in Microsoft Word (or another word
processor) for easy addition to the Christian Classics Ethereal
Library./p>
- Enter all of the text in the book -- make the electronic
text look as similar to the book as possible
- Insert footnotes as regular Word footnotes, using
Ctrl-Alt-F
- Use paragraph styles Heading 1, Heading 2, etc. as
appropriate to show the outline structure of the book.
(These styles should be available in the leftmost
drop-box on the formatting menu or the Style item on the
Format menu.)
- When saving the document to send it to me, choose
"Save As" and save it in RTF format.
If you are using a word processor other than Microsoft Word,
you will probably not be able to use paragraph styles, but you
can still try to follow the other guidelines.

and inserting codes for the CCEL, Complete Guidelines document.
